Incredible meal. Low country skillet with shrimp, eggs, potatoes and perfect with their house salsa. 10/10
Any time I'm in Bham, I always make a stop at BBB! One of my fav breakfast places! Service is always fast and friendly, and the food is delicious! My personal favorite is the big bad breakfast plate. You won't be disappointed
Busy as heck and the waiting line is worth it, if you aren't starving when you arrive. Food is delicious and portions are large! Wait staff is super nice and efficient. Tip them well! Only recommendation - EXPAND!!! If you increased the size of the restaurant, you would still have a waiting line and a much bigger top and bottom line too! Don't miss this place. Worth the stop and wait!
I had the big bad skillet (swapped out the ham for extra bacon) and decided on the biscuit. It was amazing!! The biscuit tasted homemade and it all hit the spot! When I came in though, it seemed as though they just had a pop and all the spaces at the bar were not fully cleaned yet and the table placements weren't set but it didn't deter me from sitting down. Then another young lady came by and got them cleaned up next to me, so the crew was on top of everything. The service was great. I got everything I needed/ wanted.
The food was good and the service was excellent. I didn't care for the Bloody Mary or the smoked sausage. The sausage casing was really hard and tough to eat. I liked the grits and the eggs. I will return and order something else. I loved the signs on the wall and the atmosphere.
If you're looking for a classic American and southern breakfast spot this is it! It's a cozy spot with lots of seating, including an upstairs with lots of sunlight. They have tons of omelets, platters, skillets, pancakes, you name it! They have a fun drink menu with a seasonal menu that rotates. My breakfast burrito hit the spot, and the breakfast skillet my friend hit was the cheesy, hearty breakfast you need at the end of a long weekend. The fried chicken on the chicken and waffles was cooked well, though the waffle was a touch lacking. Downside, the wait can get very long on weekends and not sure why, but sometimes the restaurant will shut down their Yelp waitlist. So make sure to be early or expect a wait!
My husband and I came to Big B breakfast a few years ago, but cannot get in due to the long wait! My friends and I were here for girls weekend and decided to give it one more try. And boy was I happy we did were seated immediately. Keep in mind we got there very early before 8 o'clock. The food is absolutely delicious. I got the sausage eggs and French toast. Oh my goodness the sausage is some of the best I have ever had. The French toast were light fluffy, and delicious. We will definitely be back! Food: 2 Service: 2 Ambiance 1
I was craving biscuits, and this place did not disappoint. The biscuits and gravy was (near) perfect, although I wish the gravy had been warmer. The biscuit sandwich was light and flaky. My mom said her bacon and eggs were perfection, high praise from us breakfast snobs. Very cool, "authentic" atmosphere. A bustling southern diner with the staff's saucy personalities to match. Cool t-shirts, too (I purchased one). Very busy on a Saturday morning, so be prepared to wait. Nothing too original to say, because it is simply a hometown, home cooking breakfast place. Definitely recommend
Magical. Shrimp and grits heaven. Not sure how else to describe this meal other than simply the best shrimp and grits I've ever had - the grits were extra buttery and the shrimp cooked in this tomato, sausage concoction that I'm still dreaming about. The wife doesn't even like grits and she kept taking bites of mine. Yes, that unforgettably stupid good! The redneck benny was also pretty amazing. Two eggs on top of some of some delicious gravy on top of some ham on top of some golden, fluffy biscuits? What's not to love? Their drinks are just the perfect accompaniments to was everything down. Super tasty bloody mary and pineapple upside down mimosa. Staff was great. They seemed to have a great time and that attitude was infectious. All super cool! They need to open one in Austin!
This spot was recommended to me by a friend from Bham as well as the Internet. When I arrived they were busy, as I expected. I was very lucky to grab the last single bar counter seat at the time. I ordered a sweet tea as well as the Belgian Waffle. I got fruit on the side. I chose a sweet brunch dish as I had ate a hearty biscuit from Martin's in Georgia for breakfast. This probably isn't their best, but I still enjoyed my meal. The atmosphere is cozy as well!
